Doi Ang Khang

Doi Ang Khang is a mountain-top village south-west of Fang.

It is reached via the extremely steep Highway 1249 – the turn-off is 14 kms south of Fang.

Doi Ang Khang is another KMT village, population mostly Chinese, and a former Golden Triangle opium-growing centre. For more information on this era, see the Khun Sa page on the Doi Mae Salong page.

These days, the pack-horses are used for more innocent purposes; carrying vegetables up to the market, or taking tourists on treks into the nearby mountains.
