Wat Sri Umong Kham is located in central Phayao town, and is renowned for its gorgeous chedi. This temple also houses the Buddha image “Luang Po Ngam Muang Runag Rit” also known as the “Phra Chao Lan Tu.“
Regarded as one of the most beautiful Lanna Thai Buddhist images, the “Phra Chao Lan Tu” is a unique artistic symbol of Phukamyao, the ancient Phayao Kingdom.
